A tremor is a rhythmic, involuntary quivering or shaking movement of a part of the body.
It can range in severity from barely perceptible to quite obvious. Tremors are often caused by neurological conditions, medication side effects, or physical exertion. They can affect any body part, but are most commonly observed in the hands, head, arms, or legs. The underlying mechanism involves abnormal, oscillating electrical activity in the brain that controls muscle movement.
