Corkskrew

A corkscrew is a tool used to remove corks from wine bottles, typically consisting of a pointed metallic spiral (the worm) attached to a handle. The worm is inserted into the cork, and the handle is used to pull the cork out. The design allows for leverage, making it easier to extract the cork without breaking it or pushing it into the bottle. Variations exist, including winged corkscrews, waiter's friends (pocket knives with corkscrews), and electric corkscrews. The name derives from the screw's spiral shape, resembling that of a corkscrew.
